A busy morning at Garden Club this morning, thanks to the Jo and the boys who came down to help get on top of the jungle! A huge amount of weeding and tidying was done. We also found a few treasures along the way, lots of newly hatched monarch butterflies, lots of chrysalises developing, and several caterpillars busy fattening up - exciting! There was also an abundance of bees and bumble bees working too. The last of the strawberries were eaten and a bag of tomatoes harvested.
First week back we will be harvesting our sunflowers and hanging them for drying so we can collect the seeds. And to celebrate being back we'll also do something delicious to make use of the starflowers (remember our borage cupcakes?) and violas which are not only very pretty but also edible, yummy!
Enjoy the rest of the holidays, see you soon.
