Another busy Monday today at Garden Club, so lovely to see new faces and of course our regulars. Today's session involved a little bit of planting, a bit of getting our hands really dirty, and a bit of creativity writing and drawing. Gail had some broad bean seedlings for planting that will climb and cover the first third of our fabulous new tunnel framing, the first stages of what will become our 'living tunnel'. A massive thank you to Olivia's grandad, John Cadness, who put the framing together for us offsite and then came and installed it! We got our hands really dirty mixing up our first batch of seed bombs. We used clay, soil, wildflower seed mix and water to make our own seed bombs that we will dry and package up ready for the Ag Day co-op stall. Also for the co-op stall we planted up empty egg trays with seeds, a bit of TLC and they will be perfectly sprouted ready for the sale table. Remember our beautiful big sunflowers from early this year? Well the sunflower heads were carefully stored and dried and today we harvested the seeds and packaged them up, the writing and drawing part of today was everyone busily writing and colouring in labels for our sunflower seed packs. Make sure you look our for all our goodies on Ag Day! See you next week at the garden - all welcome. Victoria and Gail |
