On Thursday 25th May the Student Leaders went to the National Young Leaders Day with Mr Miller. They were inspired by a range of guest speakers who shared their experiences and words of wisdom with them. Some of their favourite quotes were:

One of student leaders, Kayla, summed up what all this means to her as a leader:
"Nobody's different, they're unique. Be yourself - if you like yourself, everyone else will too. I am myself, there's no one else like me and there is only one of me. If you want to believe, believe in yourself. No matter how many people or how many times people say no, it's OK to keep going. Don't take no for an answer. Make a difference in the world. Sometimes when you're uncomfortable, it can come with huge rewards. Go for it! Get off your technology and live the world's beauty. Only you have to live with the consequences, nobody else. Stand up for yourself and stand up for others."

On Friday 5th May the Student Leaders organised a Wacky Hair Day to raise money for the Westpac Helicopter. There were a lot of crazy hair styles!! Thanks to everyone who bought a gold coin donation. We raised $211.30. The student leaders judged the wackiest hair in each class...well done to all our winners!

The student leaders planned a fun week for the end of term 1. On Tuesday there was a lunchtime obstacle course and the fastest girl and boy from each syndicate won a prize. On Tuesday we had arts and crafts in the Artec room at lunchtime. On Wednesday we had Wacky Wednesday dress-up and some fun dancing. The best dancing and best costumes won prizes. On Thursday we had a treasure hunt planned. Unfortunately it rained so we postponed until term 2. Thanks student leaders for organising such a fun 'Fun Week'!

A big thank you to all of our Olympic Committee and the Student Leadership Team! I am impressed with your dedication to helping to plan this fun event! Well done everyone, it was a huge success!

The Student Council will be running the following activities on Friday lunch times after lunch eating-
Week 3- Pogo sticks (Years 4-6 only due to size restrictions)
Week 4- Game of Midnight on the field for Year 3/4
Week 5- Colouring in in the Artech room for Year 1/2
Week 6- Chess Club for anyone who is interested
Week 7 and 8- Xmas card decorating and colouring in
