Private instrumental tuition
At Coatesville School we allow private tuition in piano, harp, violin, guitar to take place during school time. The tutors operate independently of the school and become private arrangements between tutor and parent.
If you would like your child to have private music lessons please apply using this form:
Music Tuition - Application form
Once the school has approved your child being tutored during school time you will be able to make an arrangement with a tutor.
The tutors are:
Claire Craigie - piano & harp
Cindy Pardo - piano
Cherrie Leefe - violin & piano
Jill Pearson - piano
Suzanne Franklin - guitar
If the school feels music tuition is impacting on the progress of your child we will talk to you about it. But otherwise it is an enriching opportunity for your child's learning.

Marimba Festival - October 2016
In September 400 children from across Auckland played together in the annual ONZA marimba festival. Our instrumental group represented the school by performing en masse 9 works by composers from around the world. This involved learning many different parts and playing different percussion instruments, ranging from small glockenspiels to large marimbas. The children played to a large and appreciative audience at the ASB stadium in Kohimarama.
A big thank you to Richard and Stephanie Carr for transporting the big marimbas and to all the parents for your support. This was indeed one of the highlights of the 2015 music programme.
