North Harbour Hockey
The Primary competition is available to all school children from Year 1 to Year 6. Children must play for the school that they attend. Teams are organised and registered through the school.
All Primary grade teams are scheduled to play on Mondays commencing on 5th May 2025 and finishes on 25th August 2025 (no play on public and during school holidays) at 159 Bush Road, Albany. All teams are 6 aside. Strictly NO boys are permitted to play in girls teams in any grade. However girls may be registered in a boys team if required to make up numbers.
Grades Offered:
Yr 1/2 Small Sticks – ⅛ Turf
The objective of Small Sticks is to introduce players to the game of hockey and to help them develop basic individual skills including grip, dribbling, ball control, passing, receiving, tackling, basic elimination, and distribution. Additional team concepts to develop are space awareness, vision, and calling.
Game start times are between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm approx.
Game Play: 13 minute half (all players involved), 2 minute interval and 13 minute half. Maximum of 4 players plus one adult on 1/8 turf – No goalkeepers
The role of the adult is to help the game retain the structure and encourage all players to be involved in the game.
Yr 3/4 Mini Sticks – ¼ Turf
Mini Sticks is an introductory module that is intended to familiarise players that are new to hockey or those who have completed the Fun Sticks programme.
Available to Year 3/4 Girls and Year 3/4 Boys ONLY.
Maximum of 6 players on the turf - No goal keepers
Games are played across a ¼ turf for duration of 30 minutes.
Game start times are between 4.00pm and 5.30pm approx.
Yr 5/6 Kiwi Sticks - ¼ Turf
Available to Year 5/6 Girls and Year 5/6 Boys ONLY

Winter Hockey Registrations 2024
If your child would like to play hockey this year during terms 2 & 3 in one of our boys or girls teams then please register their details using the Coatesville School Hockey Registration 2024 form. The registration fee per player is outlined below and covers the cost of registering your child's team in their respective competition as well as a contribution towards replacement balls, training gear etc. Payment will be requested once your child’s team has a coach and a manager. Registrations close at 1pm on Wednesday 13th March. Late registrations or registrations from children who are unable to play for the whole season may not be accepted. Teams will be communicated once children are placed in a team, and a coach and manager are allocated.
