As part of our diversity focus, we have been learning that everyone is unique and that we need to appreciate each other's differences. It was room 6's turn to host our kiwi team assembly this week and we wanted to share our learning with the team!
We've been reading stories about diversity. Our favourite story was Giraffes can't dance! It's about a giraffe that can't dance like the other animals. The other animals were bucket dippers and made fun of Gerald. Then Gerald met a cricket, who was a bucket filler, and helped Gerald find his own way to dance. We have realised that like Gerald, we are all different which makes us unique! We have made beautiful Giraffe can't dance art work, which we shared at assembly. Our art will be displayed in our classroom this week - come and check it out!

We enjoyed singing This Is Me from The Greatest Showman, and teaching Kiwi Team the Bucket Filler Chant! We think that it's really important to be bucket fillers and to make other people feel happy. We have been brainstorming different ways that we can be bucket fillers by using kind words and actions. Have you seen our awesome buckets?
Miss Winson was really proud of the way we performed at assembly. She said "Way to go Room 6!"
