In early literacy, we learn letter sounds and high frequency words (or 'sight words'). Here are some photos of us practicing our sight words and sounds, and using what we have learned to help us write our stories.
At Coatesville School, we use Jolly Phonics to help us learn our letter names and sounds. Jolly Phonics is a multi-sensory programme where we learn sounds through stories, actions and songs. If you would like to help us practice, here is a link to a Jolly Phonics song (please note, we sing slightly different lyrics in class, but this is still lots of fun to sing along to!)
