We all know that there are big and small challenges to face every day and we look forward to exploring this idea with the students. Our target is to help students find new ways to solve problems using thoughtful words, reflection and creative problem solving skills.
In week four, Kauri Syndicate had an amazing time participating in a week long technology challenge week. The children were mixed across the classes and each afternoon went along to a different class to experience a new challenge. Challenges included getting Little Red Riding Hood's basket safely to Granny using a zip line and carefully getting The Gingerbread man, and their team, to the other side of a crocodile infested river to name just a couple.
The children were encouraged to work within a team, to understand that each team had voices to be heard and that there was no designated leader.
From a teacher perspective, it was amazing to see how each group worked together and came up with some very unique solutions.
Chat to your child about what they enjoyed about the challenges and how they could apply problem solving skills to daily life.
