On Monday the 24th of July, Totara syndicate played a game called Matimati. Two players stand an arm's length away from each other, and each have five tries to strike (gently) each other on the shoulder (with an open palm). If one of the two players doesn’t keep their feet grounded, then it is the other players point. Every time one player manages to strike the other one they get a point. Matimati was used as a training method for Maori warriors. We were doing it to help us read someones body language and develop our reactions.
Chantelle tries to get a point.
Claire just misses.
A point for Lucia.
