Get New Zealand Writing has been keeping us busy for the past few weeks. We have surveyed the class to see who could wiggle their ears and roll their tongues. We have written metaphor poems for our postcards. We have drawn a map of the school, discussed the best place at school and loads of other things. Now we have published our work on this poster and sent it to Bromley School in Christchurch. We opened their parcel today to see their poster and post cards, so we can read all about them.
Taniwha and Maori View of Water.
Kila Haitana visited us on Monday to talk to Totara Syndicate about Taniwha and the Maori view of water. We learnt that Taniwha are protectors of people and usually had a special power, like making earthquakes or big waves!
We also won the E Award for this week. Here we are looking a little excited.
