We started the week watching a 20/20 current events programme on the Selwyn River. This term we have been inquiring about water and the impact that people have on it. It was really interesting for the children to see that even though New Zealand has a lot of fresh water compared to other countries we still have to be careful with how we use it.
I took these photos of our school children at play while on duty on Monday.
On Friday Mr Thomson spoke to us about his experience in the New Zealand Navy, helping the people of Tuvalu with gathering and storing fresh water. It was interesting to hear about making fresh water from sea water and also about the biggest waves he has been in on a war ship.
