Our Coatesville School Values...

At Coatesville School we have the Coatesville Competencies. We are aiming for our students to take more ownership of their learning by showing that they are responsible, reflective and respectful learners.
These competencies are extremely important as they are the behaviours and habits that help support student success in all curriculum areas. Our aim is for children to use these competency behaviours in the future and enable them to be well-rounded adults.
This year we have reviewed the Coatesville Competencies and have added three new values. Responsibility, Respect and Reflection. The competencies ‘Managing Self, Relating to others and Thinking, now underpin these 3 values.
Take a look at our Gotcha charts on display in our classes throughout the school!
Congratulations Competency Draw Winners
Values Band Recipients
Children at Coatesville School are striving to be responsible, respectful and reflective learners. Student's success with these values, are celebrated by earning 'gotcha tickets'.
Students earn these tickets by consistently demonstrating one of our school's values. Tickets are handed out by teachers during class time, and peer mediators at lunch time.
Gotcha tickets are entered by teachers via Google Form and their name goes into the Gotcha Draw for the fortnight (this draw happens at Assembly).
On Gotcha draw weeks, a mini Gotcha ticket certificate will go home, they are new this year and look like this...
What do Gotcha tickets earn you?
Each fortnight, we have a competencies draw at assembly. One child from each syndicate is drawn out of a bucket and they receive a $20 Westfield voucher thanks to Nicky White at Precision Real Estate.
The amount of gotcha tickets that each child receives, is recorded by the classroom teachers. When the students have earnt TEN Gotcha tickets, they receive a competency values band that is presented to them at assembly. Each value is depicted by a different coloured band.
